A few little updates!

Three small pieces of news from me:

There are just a few hours left to get Parts 1&2 of New Rat City!

The campaign ends at 9 am ET tomorrow — there are more rat dolls, a replica of Felicia’s key to the Central Park Pound, and art commissions still available! You can also check out the project updates for a series of mini-interviews with the team behind the series.

And if you miss it, don’t worry: you’ll be able to pick up Issue #1 and the trade paperback of the whole series later this year from Scout Comics!

Relict and Smart Home are now in print in 2000 AD, and have made their way across the Atlantic to me. Look look look:

It was really a trip seeing my name and words in these, and a joy to see my scripts brought to life by Lee Milmore and V.V. Glass, who are both unbelievably talented artists!

…and Andraste #5 is in progress!

After a rat-related hiatus, I’ve started working on the script for our fifth issue of Andraste. A little while ago I shared that Unai had wrapped up inks on Issue #4 — DC Alonso is now working on the colors for that issue. Here’s page 3, where the druidess Dornall visits the gods (here we have Lugh, Macha, Shuck, Andraste, and Cernunnos) on Annwn, the lovely golden bunny-filled plane of the Otherworld:

I love the character designs on this crew. I wanted them to be much larger than the humans of the story, and Unai included a great parallel to Lady Justice’s blindfold in Andraste’s eye-obscuring cloak. I’ll write a longer post about all of that when we’re closer to publishing Issue #4!

As for the future of the series: I’m planning to publish Issues 1-3 here on Substack later this summer, and then release Issues 4-5 digitally here and on GlobalComix. I printed a bunch of single issues of #1-3 for NYCC, and I plan to make those and future single issues available to buy online soon. We’ll likely do a Kickstarter for Volume 2 when we’re ready with Issue #6, but that’s for next year!
